Couple’s Retreat – Review
January 26, 2010 in Comedy
A comedy centered around four couples who settle into a tropical-island resort for a vacation. While one of the couples is there to work on the marriage, the others fail to realize that participation in the resort’s therapy sessions is not optional.
Couples Retreat is an average comedy with a great cast that unfortunately doesn’t really break any new water. It’s fun at times with a few laugh out loud moments, but unfortunately it drags its feet more often than not. When the funniest part of the movie is a child using the display toilet at a home store… well, with the cast we have here, there should have been more. Written by, and starring both Jon Favreau (Iron man) and Vince Vaughn, Couple’s Retreat tries to be more funny than it actually is, and ends up being just watchable. If you’re a huge fan of Vince Vaughn, then you’ll probably like it more than I did!
